Do It Right: After Communion

If you are a C1, remember that your job includes helping the clergy "clean up" after communion. As soon as the last member of the congregation has received communion, go and stand in your spot between the altar and the credence table. One of the clergy will hand you items from the altar to place on the credence table.

If you are a C2, and are serving at the 11:00 service, it is your job to open the communion rail and move the cushion as soon as the last member of the congregation has received communion. If you remember to do this, you will save the C1 (and everyone else!) from having to leap over the the rail for the recessional. So as you can see, your job is extremely important!

Torches, please extinguish the candles on the altar before you bring your torches back into the church. This means the Torch who is putting out the candles will need to hand his or her torch to his or her partner, who will hold both torches while you go and put the candles out.
